MART

MART is project of contemporary art gallery in Maribor. It is located next to river Drava and it is turn into the North direction. The leading thought of project was the question what does contemporary art gallery represent in the city. For me it is a leading building of nowadays, and its meaning is equivalent the meaning of the sacral buildings in the past. Because of that we decided that it should be dominant and special. We also tried to play with the interior spaces. On the one hand this gallery has retained and calm spaces, where is all focus really on the exponats that are inside, but one the other hand, it has dynamic spaces, which appeals authors to use architecture as a part of their art. The project was made in cooperation with Max Mijailović.
